About the Founder

Barbara R. Smith is the Founder / Director of Instrument of His Peace Ministry, Mercy Intercessors for America. (MIFA) and Hand of Mercy Ministries in the inner city of Atlanta, GA.  Barbara is the widow of a Pastor and mother of 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  She is a minister and Licensed Christian Counselor and certified Elijah House counselor, who has counseled in the Church and privately.
Barbara has traveled and ministered throughout the Caribbean, Philippines, Brazil, and Russia on short term missions.
She has served as prayer coordinator in her last church assignment for over 3 yrs where she raised up other Church ministries and prayer groups and led city wide prayer meetings. She also founded and directs "Hand of Mercy Ministries" located in the City of Atlanta that ministers to the poor and homeless population of the City.  Barbara teaches on intercession and desires to prepare the Church to be the Bride of Christ.

She is also called to mobilize the Church to personal and corporate repentance, especially in the area of Racial Reconciliation. The Lord has now commissioned her to write a book on the Curse of Racism, where the root lies, that it maybe be dealt with and uprooted once and for all. Her dream is that II Chronicles 7:14 maybe activated in America and the world.

Barbara comes from a background in nursing with an MS in Health Education and a BA in Christian Literature. Her book "Breaking the Curse of Racism from the Root" is now available in Barnes and Noble bookstores, Target stores and on the Internet at Amazon.
